Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz have enjoyed a joyful marriage for over nine years. Four years ago, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, and have since maintained her privacy away from the public eye. Recently, the couple surprised many by announcing the birth of their second child, a son named Cardinal.
The revelation was unexpected, given the couple's usual discretion regarding their personal lives. They took to Instagram to share the news, posting a piece of artwork with the phrase “A little bird whispered to me,” signifying the birth of their son.
Their caption stated, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome, and we are all so happy he is here!” They also clarified that they would not be sharing any photos of their children to ensure their safety and privacy.
This isn't the first instance of the couple keeping their family news private. They got married in 2015 and welcomed their daughter, Raddix, in 2019, only revealing her birth afterward. In the birth announcement, Cameron Diaz wrote, “She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”
While the couple is thrilled with their new addition, they are also determined to safeguard their children’s privacy. Though they haven’t disclosed any specifics about their son’s birth, a close source mentioned that they faced challenges in conceiving their daughter and view her as a miracle.
However, not everyone supports their decision to expand their family at this stage in their lives. Some have criticized Cameron’s age, with an Instagram user commenting, “Who the heck wants to become a parent at 51 yrs old?” As with any decision, varying opinions are inevitable.
Regardless of any criticism, Benji and Cameron are content and thankful for their expanding family. They have opted to shield their children from the public eye, and their choice should be respected.
We extend our best wishes to them as they embark on this new chapter as a family of four.
