Naomi Pomeroy, a renowned chef celebrated for her appearances on Top Chef, has tragically passed away.
The Portland chef’s body was discovered in a river on July 17, after being reported missing a few days earlier. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that she drowned.
Investigations revealed that Pomeroy, her husband Kyle Linden Webster, and a friend became entangled while using tubes and a paddleboard that were connected.
Members of the Corvallis Fire Department rescued the other two adults and brought them safely to shore. Unfortunately, they were initially unable to recover Pomeroy, according to the sheriff’s office.

Her body was eventually found by a group of canoers. Officials reported that she was unable to free herself due to the paddleboard leash.
